Suburban Services Group (SSG) was formed by Craig MacDonald in 1980, as a Home Improvement Company.

With the assistance of co-workers right from the start, the company has continued to grow. In 1983, the company completed its goal of specializing in Plumbing and Heating installation and repairs. The business name was then changed to Suburban Plumbing and Heating Corp. During this time, Craig received his plumbers’ license and EPA certification for refrigerant handling.

In the late 1980s, continuing growth with dedicated co-workers led to a new facility located on Route 50 near Saratoga Springs. Through the 90s, additional skilled technical persons, and a professional sales and administrative staff were added.

Radon Mitigation systems installations to remove Radon Gas in residences were added when the company received additional EPA certification and credentials. The company name was changed once again to Suburban Services Group. SSG was then listed by New York State as a qualified company to remove this gas (which is listed as a carcinogen).
